RECONSTRUCTION OF IRANIAN ENGLISH FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHERS’ PROFESSIONAL IDENTITY IN ONLINE CLASSES

چکیده
Because of the Covid-19 outbreak, all academic institutions over world swiftly shifted to reconstitute presentation their courses that customarily took place on campus. This study explored kind online professional identities English teachers in private language institutes constructed during Pandemic. Additionally, it examined possible impacts adopting solutions teachers’ performance and teaching skills perceptions communities practice effect PI classes this period. The was conducted 35 teachers, Yazd, Iran. followed a qualitative approach. Semi-structured interviews were individually also groups, gain access lived experiences running classes. Results revealed four main characteristics (re)constructed affected classes, namely, role, competency self-effectiveness, appreciation connection, future plans. findings streamlined communication very beneficial (re)constructing changing Membership found be an essential action make social learning better share common experiences. results showed these aspects highly influence reconstruction positive way institutes.
